Wilderness

Wilderness

Take a leisurely drive from George on the Old Knysna road, which meanders through part of the Forest where you may very well come across a family of Vervet Monkeys, buck or a leopard on the side of the road. The old road takes you over two small rivers. Here you can get out and dip your toes into the brown water, nick named Pepsi water, this is from the roots of the vegetation and fynbos. Carry on to Wilderness Heights and visit The Map Of Africa, a lookout point where you can see the coast stretched out before you, along with the Lakes, mountains and forests. From here you can either go down to walk on the beach, a boardwalk walk alongside the lake, and do some bird spotting, or go into the National Park where you can hire a canoe, fish, or go for a swim in the warm dark water of the river. Forrest and beach Walks can be booked from 1 hour – 5 days.
